Engagement Structures · The TEACHology Lab Manual
Every student engaged, in any subject.
A teaching program built on repeatable activity formulas that keep every student actively involved, whether they Huddle at their desks or Breakout around the room. Start with the classroom problem you see, pick the formula that fixes it, and swap in your own content.
Fun, yet purposeful.
Every formula has a function, and every function fixes a different classroom challenge.
Sound familiar?
Start with the problem you see
Each of the five functions solves a different classroom challenge and builds a different skill.
Flashback
Students forget what they've learned.
Skill: RecallTroubleshoot
Students keep making the same mistake.
Skill: AccuracyBlueprint
Students can't see how the parts fit together.
Skill: StructureLab Report
Students stay silent or don't explain their answers.
Skill: ReasoningField Test
Students know it but can't apply it.

About 15 to 30 minutes, or 40 to 45 for a Lab Challenge.
Huddle
Students work together at their desks or tables.
Breakout

What's on every formula card
Teachers get the full cards in a workshop. Here's how each one is laid out.
- Problem it solvesThe classroom problem this formula fixes.
- Core moveThe one move students make.
- No-hide ruleWhat keeps every student involved.
- Lab equipmentWhat you prep, plus delivery options.
One layout, every formula
Every formula card follows the same layout, so once teachers learn to read one card, they can run them all. Each card names the classroom problem it solves, the one core move students make, and the no-hide rule that keeps every student involved.
The full set of formula cards, with protocols, debrief questions and idea banks for any subject, comes with the workshop.

Bring the Engagement Lab to your teachers
Hands-on professional development where teachers experience the formulas as students first, then plan how to use them in their own content.
The Engagement Lab: Half Day
Some students are quiet. Some forget everything by Friday. Some make the same mistake for the third week in a row. Each of those is a different problem, and each one needs a different fix.
In this hands-on session, teachers step into the student role and try engagement structures from the TEACHology Lab Manual, then learn the system behind them: five functions, each built to solve a specific classroom problem. We’ll tour 10 ready-to-use formulas, a Huddle and a Breakout for every function, and practice swapping in real content from any subject.
Teachers will leave able to:
- Name the problem they’re seeing and choose the formula that fixes it
- Adapt any formula to their own content, from algebra to welding
- Run at least one formula in class the next day
Every participant receives:
- A printed copy of the TEACHology Lab Manual
- A certificate of PD hours
The Engagement Lab: Full Day
Everything in the half day, plus the part teachers usually wish they had: time to actually build something.
In the morning, teachers experience the structures as students and learn how to match a classroom problem to the right formula. In the afternoon, they work in small groups to create a real activity for their own upcoming lesson, with coaching and suggestions from me as I move between groups. We’ll finish with Canva shortcuts, like bulk create, that turn an hour of making cards and materials into a few minutes.
Teachers will leave with:
- The skills to choose and adapt any formula for their own content
- A finished, classroom-ready activity built during the session
- Canva time-savers for creating materials quickly
Every participant receives:
- A printed copy of the TEACHology Lab Manual
- Canva templates for building their own materials
- A certificate of PD hours
Participants should bring a laptop.
